Brian Umana is a producer of digital narrative media, a communications specialist and former congressional campaign manager. He has previously produced documentary and dramatic films, as well as commercials. A specialist on health-care messaging, Politico printed in 2010 that one of his ads: “could have been a blueprint for Democrats in other races.” Cynthia Tucker wrote that: “If more Democrats had had the good sense to run ads like this, they might not be in danger of losing their congressional majority.” His first job out of college was to work for Woody Allen on two feature films. He grew up in D.C. with politics as a childhood hobby. His interests include neuropsychology and cognitive science, particularly as applied to media-targeting and markets. He also enjoys reading about the history of visual art and cinema, as well as Elizabethan and Jacobean literature.
